Driv3r on the Game Boy Advance came out in 2005, published by Atari. It was part of that wave of ambitious, scaled-down console ports trying to fit open-world driving and shooting onto the small screen. You controlled an undercover cop in a compressed version of Miami, stealing cars and trying to outrun the law.
You drive through the city from a top-down perspective, completing missions that usually involve stealing specific vehicles or evading the police. The core mechanics are driving, shooting from your car, and navigating the small map while managing police attention. The controls are stiff, and the difficulty spikes sharply during chases when multiple police cars swarm you. It feels janky but weirdly satisfying once you get the hang of weaving through traffic while cops unload on you.
