Game Overview

Dyna Blaster arrived on the Amiga in the early 1990s, a port of the Japanese arcade and PC title Bomberman. Hudson Soft developed the original, and while the exact Amiga publisher is less clear, the game fit right in with the platform's love for fast, competitive multiplayer and clever puzzle action. It was a solid addition to any Amiga owner's library, especially if you had friends and a second joystick handy.

You control a small character in a maze filled with destructible blocks and enemy creatures. Your main tool is dynamite; you drop bombs to blast through obstacles and eliminate foes. The goal is to clear each single-screen stage by defeating all enemies and then exiting through the revealed door. Key mechanics include collecting power-ups that let you lay more bombs at once or increase their blast radius, while also avoiding getting caught in your own explosions or cornered by fast-moving adversaries. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty ramps up steadily as enemy numbers and maze complexity increase. It feels tense and rewarding when you time a bomb just right to wipe out several enemies at once.
