Play Egypt Online
NES puzzle game where you're trapped in a palace, solving sliding tile puzzles for a powerless god. Starts simple, gets devious fast—with passwords to save your sanity.

Egypt was a puzzle game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991 by Atari Corporation. It came out late in the NES's life, a time when many players were already looking toward newer systems, so it never got much attention. You play as a young boy who gets magically transported into an ancient Egyptian palace, and the whole game is built around navigating its trap filled rooms.
You control the boy from a top down perspective, moving screen by screen through the palace. Your main goal is to solve a series of sliding block puzzles to reassemble a magical scarab and escape. Each room presents a new tile arrangement that you must shift into place, often while avoiding enemies or navigating around obstacles. The puzzles start off simple but quickly become complex, requiring careful planning and multiple moves. The game is known for its steep difficulty, but it offers a password system to save your progress between sessions. It feels methodical and tense, rewarding patience over quick reflexes.
