Elvira - The Arcade Game is this weirdly charming Amiga platformer where you play as the goth queen herself, running through two massive (and I mean massive) worlds—one all fire and lava, the other icy and slippery. The controls take a second to get used to, but once you’re tossing daggers and dodging bats, it clicks.
What’s cool is how different the two worlds feel—fire levels have these crumbling platforms, while the ice stage makes you slide into spikes if you’re not careful. Beat both, and the castle unlocks, which is where things get properly brutal. Elvira’s got attitude, and so do the enemies—zombies, skeletons, the works. Half the fun is finding hidden power-ups tucked behind suspicious-looking walls.
It’s janky in that classic Amiga way, but there’s something about the vibe that sticks with you. Just don’t expect it to go easy on you.
