Play Faceball 2000 on Snes Online
You play as a grinning hologram blasting through maze-like corridors, dodging swarms of floating smiley-faced shapes that somehow get unnerving when they crowd you. The multiplayer deathmatch was wild for its time—four players linked via Game Boys in a blocky, chaotic shootout.

Faceball 2000 came out for the Super Nintendo in 1991, developed by Bullet-Proof Software. It was one of the early attempts at a first-person shooter on the system, using a unique visual style with simple, blocky environments and a lot of flat-shaded polygons. At the time, it stood out for its ambition, even if the hardware struggled to keep up with the concept.
You control a small, floating face icon, navigating through maze-like levels one screen at a time. Your goal is to shoot other smiley-faced enemies while avoiding their fire, clearing each room before moving to the next. The game uses a split-screen mode for two-player competitive matches, and the action is fast but often choppy due to technical limitations. Playing it feels like being stuck in a low-resolution, slightly frantic digital playground.
