Game Overview

Famicom Mini 07: Xevious is one of those games that feels like digging up a time capsule—except instead of old photos, you get green tanks, weird floating orbs, and that satisfying click-click of bombing runs. At first glance, it seems simple (shoot stuff, don’t get hit), but then you realize those enemy patterns are sneakier than they look. The ground targets especially—you’ll start memorizing their positions after a few failed runs.

What’s cool is how the GBA version nails the arcade feel. The sprites are tiny but sharp, and there’s something weirdly hypnotic about the way the music loops. I spent way too long trying to find those rumored hidden flags—still not sure if they’re real or just an 80s urban myth. If you’re into retro shooters, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t blame me when you start seeing zig-zagging enemies in your sleep.
