Famicom Mini - Vol 12 - Clu Clu Land is one of those weird little Nintendo games that somehow sticks with you. You control Bubbles, a round sea urchin, swinging around pegs like a pinball to uncover hidden gold in underwater mazes. Sounds simple, but the controls take some getting used to—you can't just swim freely, so you’re constantly ricocheting off pegs while dodging enemies.

The GBA version keeps the original’s bright, chunky pixels and that slightly unfair arcade difficulty. Some levels feel impossible until you figure out the exact right path, and those black urchins love to ambush you at the worst moments. It’s frustrating in the best way, like an old puzzle toy you can’t put down.
