Game Overview

Family Feud on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System came out in 1993, developed by Imagineering. It was one of those many licensed games that tried to capture the feel of a popular TV show, fitting right in with the era's mix of movie and game crossovers. You weren't getting a deep RPG or a platformer; it was a straightforward party game meant for the living room.

You control a cursor to select answers from a list, trying to guess the most popular survey responses before your opponent or the timer runs out. The main objective is to win rounds by earning enough points, then compete in the final Fast Money round for a big cash prize. Signature mechanics include the head-to-head face-offs where you buzz in first, the risk of three strikes ending your turn, and the high-pressure final round where you give five answers alone against the clock. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty comes from trying to think like a crowd, not from complex controls. It feels like a genuine, if slightly stiff, translation of yelling at the television with your family.
