Game Overview

FIFA 2005 on the GBA is one of those games that shouldn’t work as well as it does—but somehow, it absolutely nails the feel of soccer in your pocket. Yeah, the players are tiny and the graphics are basic, but the controls are snappy, the matches are fast, and the shooting actually has weight to it. I remember being surprised at how satisfying it was to curl one into the top corner with just a few button presses.

It’s not just a stripped-down port, either. The Venom version tweaks the mechanics just enough to make dribbling feel less clunky than older handheld FIFAs, and there’s a decent chunk of teams to pick from. Perfect for quick matches when you’re stuck somewhere boring. Still holds up if you’re into that old-school portable sports vibe.
