FIFA 2005 on the GBA is one of those handheld soccer games that feels surprisingly decent for its time. The controls are simple, just pass, shoot, and sprint, but the AI can be stubborn—sometimes your teammates just stand there while you frantically try to get the ball back.
I remember playing a match where the opposing keeper saved every shot until the 89th minute, then suddenly whiffed on an easy save. The graphics are pixelated, sure, but the animations for goals and tackles still have a little charm.
It’s not deep, but if you just want quick soccer matches on the go, FIFA 2005 does the job.
