FIFA Soccer 07 came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, developed by EA Canada. It was one of the last FIFA titles for the system, arriving when the handheld was still widely used but nearing the end of its life. The game tried to bring a console-like soccer experience to a small screen, with all the limitations that entailed.
You control a team of eleven players, switching between them to pass, tackle, and shoot. The main goal is to score more goals than the opponent across various cups and a full season mode. Key mechanics include using the shoulder buttons for through passes and sprinting, as well as performing skill moves to beat defenders. The pace is quick, and matches can feel frantic due to the small field view; scoring often comes from fast breaks rather than patient buildup. It feels satisfying to pull off a clean finish after a well-timed run, even with the graphical compromises.
