FightBox on GBA is basically that weird robot fighting show from BBC 2, but in your hands. You get to build these clunky mechanical fighters piece by piece—legs, arms, weapons—and then throw them into these obstacle-filled arenas. At first I just slapped parts together randomly, but after getting wrecked a few times, I realized there’s actually some strategy to it. Heavy armor slows you down, but those flimsy speed builds get torn apart fast.
The challenges start simple—just survive a round—but later ones get brutal, like taking down multiple enemies while dodging spinning blades. The physics are janky in that classic early 2000s way, so sometimes your bot just flops over for no reason. Still weirdly satisfying when you finally nail a perfect combo and watch the other guy’s chassis go flying.
It’s not deep, but there’s something charming about how rough and loud it all is.
