Fightin' Spirit_Disk2 is one of those Amiga beat 'em ups that feels rough around the edges in the best way. You pick from a bunch of absolute bruisers—like Burke, an ex-squaddie who fights like he’s still in the barracks, or Eric, a biker who probably shouldn’t be trusted with sharp objects. Half the fun is figuring out their weird animal transformations mid-fight—Tong Lee turns into a tiger out of nowhere, which still catches me off guard sometimes.
The controls take a minute to get used to—special moves are all about joystick combos followed by a quick button tap. Mess it up, and you’ll just kind of flail awkwardly. But when you nail it? Feels great. You can turn off the blood if you want (or leave it on for that extra bit of drama), and there’s even a turbo mode if the regular pace isn’t chaotic enough for you. Tag-team matches are where it really shines, especially with a friend shouting terrible advice at you.
It’s janky, loud, and exactly what you’d expect from a ‘90s Amiga fighter. If you’ve got a CD32 controller, even better.
