1996 Amiga fighting game. 10 fighters with unique abilities and animal transformations. Features special moves, turbo speed, blood toggle, and multiplayer modes. Supports CD32 pads and one-button joysticks.
Fightin' Spirit on the Amiga is one of those rough-and-tumble brawlers where you pick a street thug—like Burke, an ex-soldier with a mean right hook, or Eric, who looks like he just rolled in from a biker bar—and beat the snot out of each other in some underground fight club. The cool twist? Half these guys can morph into animals mid-fight. Watching Tong Lee suddenly turn into a tiger never gets old.
Pulling off special moves takes some practice—you’ve gotta nudge the joystick just right before hitting fire. Mess it up, and you’re eating pavement. But when you nail it? Feels like cheating. You can dial the violence up or down (blood or no blood), crank the speed to turbo, or even drag a friend into tag-team chaos. Works with CD32 pads if you’ve got ‘em, but a basic joystick does the job too.
It’s got that janky early ‘90s charm—not the prettiest fighter, but there’s something satisfying about the way the characters move, like they’re barely holding it together. Perfect for late-night couch tournaments.
