Flashback is one of those games that sticks with you—part sci-fi thriller, part platformer, with this weirdly immersive rotoscoped animation that makes every movement feel weighty. You play as Conrad, some amnesiac GBI agent in a dystopian 2142, and right off the bat, you’re dodging assassins in a jungle while piecing together what the hell happened to you. The controls take a second to click (that inertia when you jump still trips me up), but once they do, it’s satisfying as hell—like sneaking past guards or tricking them into shooting each other. Also, that opening cutscene? Still gives me chills. It’s basically Blade Runner meets Prince of Persia with a killer synth soundtrack.
