Play Flashback - The Quest for Identity on sega Online
You wake up in a jungle with no memory, rolling and shooting your way through alien-infested cities while piecing together clues from shady characters. The controls feel heavy at first—like Conrad’s actually learning to move—but once it clicks, the blend of platforming and detective work pulls you in.

Game Overview
Flashback on the Sega Genesis throws you into Conrad’s shoes—some poor guy who wakes up in a jungle with zero memories and aliens trying to kill him. The first thing you’ll do? Panic as you fumble with the controls, because this isn’t your typical run-and-gun platformer. Conrad moves with this weird, weighty realism—you’ll roll, crouch, and carefully time jumps like you’re in a weird sci-fi version of Prince of Persia.
At first, you’re just trying not to die. The gun helps (unlimited ammo, thankfully), but shields drain fast, and those little green blobs don’t mess around. Then you hit the first city area, and suddenly it’s all about talking to sketchy NPCs and figuring out what the heck is going on. The mix of platforming, shooting, and adventure-game detective work still feels fresh decades later.
Oh, and the cutscenes? For 1992, those vector graphics were mind-blowing. The Sega CD version even has voice acting, which is either charming or hilariously bad depending on your mood. Either way, it’s a trip.
