Franko - The Crazy Revenge! is one of those gritty, over-the-top Amiga beat 'em ups that feels like it was pulled straight from a VHS action flick. You play as Franko, a guy out for blood after his best friend gets murdered by a gang leader named Klocek. The whole thing’s soaked in this weirdly specific early '90s Polish atmosphere—think crumbling communist-era buildings, punks in leather jackets, and even the infamous ZOMO riot police showing up to ruin your day.

Gameplay’s classic Double Dragon stuff—walk right, punch everything that moves—but with way more blood and some surprisingly brutal animations. You’ve got your usual kicks and punches, but enemies pull knives, bats, even guns if they’re feeling nasty. The first level alone throws drunk thugs, karate guys, and these weirdo clowns at you (yeah, clowns). It’s janky in that old-school way where sometimes you’ll get stunlocked by three guys at once, but that just makes landing a perfect combo even sweeter.

Definitely not for the faint of heart, but if you’ve got a soft spot for violent, slightly unhinged retro brawlers, this one’s a trip.
