Game Overview

Freak Out is one of those games that looks cute until you realize you’re basically fighting an alien infestation with nothing but quick reflexes and a spinning board. Those little blobby Freaks pour out of the center hatch like someone left the tap running, and if you don’t keep smacking them into place fast enough, they’ll pile up and end your game in seconds.

You’ve got to match three of the same color to clear them—easier said than done when the board keeps rotating and new obstacles pop up. Ice freezes your moves, walls block paths, and those colored circles? Yeah, they only take Freaks of their exact shade, so good luck if you’re stuck with the wrong blob at the wrong time. The first few levels lull you into thinking it’s simple, but then suddenly you’re sweating, trying to keep up with the multiplying chaos.

What I love is how every level shifts the layout—sometimes you’re in a city, sometimes a weird alien hive—and the password system means you don’t lose all your progress. Just don’t expect to put it down after one round. Those Freaks have a way of pulling you back in.
