Freak Out was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection released in 2007 by Midway Games. It's a physics-based puzzle platformer from an era when developers were experimenting with elastic, unpredictable movement in 2D spaces. The game doesn't try to be polished; it leans into its own awkward, bouncy charm.
You control a stretchable, wobbly character who you fling across single-screen levels. The goal is to reach the exit, but getting there means grappling onto hooks, rebounding off walls, and carefully managing momentum. Your main tools are stretching your body to latch onto anchor points and releasing at the right moment to swing or launch yourself. The physics are deliberately loose, making every move feel risky and slightly out of control. It's a game where success depends on timing and accepting that failure is often just as funny as progress. Playing it feels like trying to control a rubber band in a wind tunnel.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
