Game Overview

Rodent's Revenge came out in 1991 as part of the Microsoft Entertainment Pack for Windows 3.1, developed by Christopher Lee Fraley. It was one of those simple, clever puzzle games that felt perfectly suited to the era, a time when a good concept and clean execution mattered more than flashy graphics. You played it between more serious tasks, a quick distraction that could easily turn into an obsession.

You control a mouse, represented by a small blue rodent, navigating a grid-based screen filled with cats and obstacles. The main objective is to crush all the cats on each level by pushing cheese blocks onto them. Your primary tool is block pushing; you maneuver these heavy wedges to create traps, but you can't pull them, so every shove is a commitment. The pacing is methodical, almost tense, as you plot paths while avoiding persistent feline enemies that respawn if you take too long. One wrong move can corner you or force you onto a mousetrap, ending the stage. It feels like a careful, spatial puzzle where every decision has immediate and sometimes fatal consequences.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
