Man, Warcraft: Orcs & Humans takes me back. I remember booting this up on our chunky beige PC and being blown away—suddenly I was ordering around pixelated grunts to chop trees and mine gold like some tiny general. The screen was cluttered, the pathfinding was... let's say "creative," but there was something about those early base-building skirmishes that just hooked me.

You pick a side—orcs with their jagged buildings and growly voices, or humans with their tidy castles—and within minutes you're scrambling to balance workers, troops, and defenses before the other side rolls in with an army. The first time I lost because I forgot to build more farms? Classic. It's rough around the edges now, but back then, this was the game that made me fall in love with RTS chaos.

Funny how simple it looks today, but you can spot all the DNA here that later turned into StarCraft and WoW. That first mission where you just build a few footmen and clear out some wolves? Felt like ruling a kingdom. Still does, honestly.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
