Game Overview

Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness is that classic RTS where you're either leading the noble humans of Lordaeron or the brutal orcish Horde, and honestly, both sides feel satisfying in totally different ways. You start with a few peasants or peons chopping wood and mining gold, but before long you're managing full-scale wars with knights, grunts, mages, and even weird stuff like flying machines and giant turtles with cannons on their backs.

The maps are packed with little details—hidden gold mines, neutral monsters that'll wreck your early units if you're not careful, and these narrow choke points where a couple of well-placed towers can turn the tide. I still remember the first time I tried to build a navy without realizing the enemy had submarines waiting. That didn't end well.

It's got that perfect mix of simplicity and depth where you can just enjoy the spectacle of a massive army clash, but if you really dig in, there's a ton of strategy in how you balance your unit types. Just don't expect the AI to go easy on you.
