Game Overview

I remember playing the 1998 Sega Genesis version of Frogger, which Konami put out. It was a late release for the system, a time when most people were already moving on to newer consoles, so it felt like a quiet, almost nostalgic nod to a simpler kind of game. It didn't try to be flashy; it was just Frogger, exactly as you remembered it, but with a few extra levels and a slightly cleaner look.

You control a small frog trying to cross a busy road and a hazardous river. The main goal is to guide it safely home, one frog at a time, by hopping forward, backward, and side to side. The signature mechanics are all about timing: dodging cars that speed past in different lanes, and jumping onto logs and turtles that drift along the water (though you have to be careful, because the turtles can submerge without warning). The pacing is relentless; one moment of distraction means a quick, squishy end. It feels tense and focused, a game of pure concentration where every successful hop brings a small wave of relief.
