Game Overview

From TV Animation One Piece: Nanatsu Shima no Daihihou came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by Bandai. It was one of those early portable adventures based on the anime, arriving when the series was still building its audience outside Japan. The game captures the look of the East Blue saga, with chunky, colorful sprites that fit right in with other GBA titles of the time.

You control Luffy, switching to other crew members like Zoro or Nami when their unique skills are needed to progress. The goal is to explore seven islands, hunting for treasure while fighting pirates and marines in straightforward, side-scrolling combat. Luffy’s stretchy arms make for satisfying punches that knock enemies off platforms, and you often backtrack to use new abilities on previously blocked paths. The platforming can feel a little stiff, and some jumps require patience, but pushing through to find a hidden cave or a chest full of berries gives a real sense of reward. It feels like a solid, hands-on trip through the world of early One Piece.
