Game Overview

GameShark Pro for the Nintendo 64 came out in 1998 from Interact Accessories, Inc. It was a cheat device that plugged into the console, letting players modify game data on the fly. At a time when many games had punishing difficulty or hidden content, it offered a way to bypass those barriers without official developer support.

You don't control a character; instead, you enter codes that alter how games behave. The main goal is to experiment with effects like infinite health, unlocking all levels, or changing character appearances. Signature mechanics include entering hexadecimal codes manually or loading them from a built-in list, toggling cheats on and off during gameplay, and sometimes causing unexpected glitches or crashes. It works best with patience, as entering codes wrong can freeze the game. Using it feels like having a backstage pass to your favorite N64 titles.
