Dodge Odie’s drool, stack boxes for pizza, and sigh dramatically when Garfield has to move too fast—just another chaotic day as the world’s laziest cat.

Garfield and his Nine Lives came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, developed by Shin'en Multimedia and published by The Game Factory. It was one of those mid-2000s licensed platformers that tried to capture the spirit of the comics, back when handhelds were full of cartoon adaptations. The game doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it fits right in with the kind of straightforward, colorful action you'd expect from that era.
You control Garfield through a series of side-scrolling levels, jumping on platforms, avoiding enemies like Odie and mice, and collecting lasagna to regain health. The main goal is to rescue Garfield's owner, Jon, who has been kidnapped; each stage ends with a short boss encounter. Two mechanics stand out: stacking crates to reach higher areas, and using Garfield's "dramatic sigh" move to stun nearby enemies. The pacing is brisk, though some sections demand careful timing, especially when dodging projectiles or navigating tricky jumps. It feels like a light, silly tribute to the comic, capturing Garfield's lazy charm even when he's forced to be a hero.
