Garfield and His Nine Lives came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, published by The Game Factory. It was one of those licensed platformers that showed up late in the system's life, trying to catch the attention of kids who still carried their SPs around. The game doesn't try to reinvent anything; it just drops you into Garfield's world with a simple goal and some familiar faces.
You control Garfield through a series of side scrolling levels, hitting enemies with a swinging fish and hunting for pieces of lasagna to collect. The main objective is to rescue Odie from robots, which involves navigating obstacles, avoiding hazards, and occasionally using Garfield's ability to take a nap to recover health. The pacing is slow, and the controls can feel a bit unresponsive, making some jumps more frustrating than they should be. It feels like a budget title that captures the character's attitude but doesn't quite stick the landing.
