Play Gear Works Online
Start by placing gears to connect red cogs, then scramble when those little troublemakers start stealing pegs and overheating your board. The slot machine bonus round’s just the right kind of weird.

Gear Works came out on the Game Boy in 1993, published by Sony Imagesoft. It was part of that wave of puzzle games that tried to do something a little different on the handheld, focusing on mechanics instead of just being another Tetris clone. You don't see many games built entirely around gears and cogs.
You control a cursor to place different colored gears on a grid, trying to connect a path from a starting red cog to an ending one. The main objective is to complete these connections before a timer runs out or your board gets overwhelmed. Two signature mechanics are the little gremlin-like creatures that run on and steal the connection pegs from your gears, forcing you to adapt, and the heat system where placing too many gears in a row causes them to overheat and become unusable. The pacing is methodical but can get frantic when multiple thieves are active. It feels like solving an engineering diagram that keeps trying to sabotage itself.
