Game Overview
Ghost Battle on the Amiga is one of those early Thalion games that feels like a rough but weirdly charming mix of Ghosts 'n' Goblins and Shadow of the Beast—if they were made on a tighter budget. You play as some poor guy whose girlfriend gets kidnapped (of course), and you’re left chucking rocks at floating skulls and zombie things across five short but punishing levels.
At first, the rocks feel useless, but you’ll eventually stumble on better weapons—some only work against bosses, so good luck figuring that out without trial and error. The horror-themed enemies look cool in that pixelated, late-80s way, though half the challenge is just timing jumps right between platforms. It’s janky, but there’s something oddly satisfying about finally beating a level after a dozen attempts.
Definitely not the smoothest game, but if you’re into retro action with a side of frustration, it’s got its moments.
