Global Effect is like Settlers but with a twist—you're not just managing resources, you're wrestling with the environment too. Start with a tiny settlement and scramble to keep the lights on while your people demand houses, food, and energy. Trees are your best friend early on—they boost your power cap, and without that, good luck expanding.
Things get messy when you realize your starting zone is a frozen wasteland or a radioactive hellscape (you pick the difficulty by choosing the world type). Suddenly, every decision matters—do you rush military units or focus on making your city self-sufficient first? The combat’s neat, though—you draw paths for your units, then tweak them mid-battle if things go sideways.
Oh, and if you’ve got a buddy with an Amiga and a null-modem cable, you can go head-to-head. Just don’t blame me when they sneak-attack your lumberjacks.
