Game Overview

Glover came out on the Nintendo 64 in 1998, developed by Interactive Studios. It was one of those oddball platformers that felt right at home on the N64, a console full of experimental ideas and quirky characters. You don't play as a hero or an animal; you're a magical glove, tasked with putting the world back together after a wizard's spell goes wrong.

You control Glover directly, using his elastic hands to roll, carry, or throw a magical crystal ball through a series of surreal, themed worlds. Your main goal is to guide the ball to each level's goal pedestal, but the ball itself is your primary tool; you can bounce it, turn it into a bowling ball for smashing obstacles, or even a rubber ball for higher jumps. The game demands careful aim and timing, especially when you need to toss the ball across gaps or onto precarious platforms. It can feel unforgiving, with precise jumps and easy mistakes, but successfully maneuvering your ball through a tricky section is genuinely satisfying. Navigating the dreamlike stages with such an unusual moveset gives the whole experience a strange, tactile charm.
