Game Overview

You play as Ingrid Bottomlow, a gnome who’s way too smart for her own good—her family basically yeeted her into the forest with a teleport spell because she had the nerve to get an economics degree. Now she’s stuck trying not to die in this weird, wordy adventure.

The game throws three big puzzles at you: first, dealing with a witch who’s definitely up to no good, then solving the mystery of a teapot that won’t stop shrinking (because why not?), and finally figuring out some gemstone nonsense. It’s all very "animal, vegetable, mineral" in the most chaotic way possible.

Instead of just typing "GO NORTH" like some caveman, you can actually tell characters to do stuff—like "FIND THE GNUGGET THEN GIVE IT TO ME" (yes, everything with an ‘n’ gets a ‘g’ slapped in front, because gnomes have terrible spelling). The puzzles are all about making characters cooperate, which is harder than it sounds when half of them have their own weird agendas.

Oh, and if you’re playing on an Amiga, you get some charmingly janky graphics. But if you’re on an Atari or Apple II? Tough luck—it’s all text, baby. You’ll just have to imagine the gnorth in your head.
