Game Overview

Gnome Ranger II: Ingrids Back came out in 1988 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from Level 9 Computing. It was a time when side-scrolling platformers were common, and this one fit right in with its fantasy setting and straightforward goals.

You control a gnome ranger, moving screen by screen through forests and caves. Your main job is to rescue Ingrid, which involves a lot of jumping across floating logs and other obstacles. You fight enemies like angry mushrooms by throwing cabbages at them, and you also use a bow for longer-range attacks. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the difficulty can be unforgiving with precise jumps required. It feels frantic but satisfying when you finally clear a tough section.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
