Hop on your skateboard as a kid (or a dino) chasing the villain who snatched your girlfriend—wipe out and it’s game over. Toss random junk at enemies between those satisfyingly quick platforming bursts.

I picked up We're Back! for the Game Boy back in 1993, a game published by Hi Tech Expressions. It was one of those many licensed titles that filled the shelves, based on the animated movie about dinosaurs in New York City. It fit right in with the platformers and action games of that era, offering a straightforward adventure without a lot of pretense.
You control a kid named Louie, or you can switch to play as Rex the dinosaur, each with their own simple moves. The goal is to rescue your friend Cecilia from the villain, Professor Screweyes, by navigating through a series of urban and museum levels. You jump across platforms, avoid obstacles like puddles and gaps, and throw collected items—baseballs, bones, even a slingshot—to defeat the various pests and enemies in your way. The game moves at a brisk pace, but the controls can feel a bit slippery, making some jumps more frustrating than fun. It feels like a quick, sometimes clumsy dash through a cartoon world.
