Game Overview
Goonies II on NES is one of those weird, clunky platformers that somehow sticks with you. You play as Mikey, running through caves, climbing ropes, and punching bats—all while trying to rescue your friends from the Fratelli gang. The controls take a second to get used to, and yeah, some of the jumps feel unfair, but there’s something oddly charming about it. Also, that mermaid subplot? Totally random, but it works.
Fair warning: the Japanese beta version has a few quirks you won’t find in the US release. Worth a look if you’re into retro oddities.
