Play GT Championship Online
Tight turns feel great in this one—you’re constantly balancing speed and control as you thread between traffic on city streets and mountain passes. The cars have just enough weight to make every drift matter.

GT Championship came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2000, developed by MTO and published by Ubisoft. It was one of the earlier racing titles on the system, arriving before the handheld's library really filled out with more graphically ambitious racers. It didn't try to be the flashiest game, but it carved out a space for a straightforward, focused driving experience.
You control a selection of licensed cars, from nimble coupes to more powerful touring cars, racing on a variety of real-world tracks. The main objective is to win a series of championships by placing first across multiple races, earning credits to upgrade your vehicle's engine, tires, and other parts. The signature mechanics involve managing your car's grip through careful braking before turns and then accelerating out of them, using a simple but effective drift system to maintain speed through corners. The pacing is methodical, demanding you learn each track's layout to shave seconds off your time. It feels satisfying to finally nail a perfect lap after learning the nuances of each car's handling.
