GT Racers is one of those GBA games that somehow makes a tiny screen feel like a full-blown arcade. You start off picking between a handful of cars—nothing crazy, just enough to give each race a slightly different feel. I went with the red sports car first, which was a mistake because that thing slides like it’s on ice, but hey, you live and learn.
The races are top-down, so it’s all about quick reflexes and memorizing turns before they sneak up on you. Traffic comes out of nowhere sometimes, and yeah, you’ll probably slam into a minivan on your first few tries. But when you finally nail a clean lap, weaving between cars without scraping paint? That’s the good stuff.
It’s not trying to be Gran Turismo—more like the kind of game you’d dump quarters into at a pizza place. Simple, fast, and weirdly satisfying even when you lose. Just don’t blame me when you realize you’ve been playing for an hour straight.
