Play Guerrilla War-mame Online
Team up with a friend, shoot your way through enemy soldiers and tanks, and clear out military bases in this chaotic run and gun arcade classic.
Guerrilla War came out in 1987 from SNK, a time when arcades were packed with run and gun shooters. It runs well on MAME, letting you experience its particular brand of two player co-op mayhem without needing a pocket full of quarters. The game puts you and a friend in the roles of Che Guevara and Fidel Castro, leading a rebellion against an oppressive military regime.
You control your revolutionary soldier from an overhead perspective, moving through jungles and military bases screen by screen. Your main goal is to clear each area of enemy soldiers, tanks, and helicopters to advance. Your character can fire a machine gun in eight directions and has a seemingly endless supply of grenades that cause massive screen clearing explosions. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming from all sides, and friendly fire is always a hilarious, chaotic risk. It feels like a frantic, explosive dash through hostile territory where teamwork is essential but also your greatest hazard.
