Play Gumby vs. the Astrobots Online
Stretch, roll, and morph through weird little worlds as Gumby—turn into a minecart, squeeze through gaps as a clay ball, and rescue your friends from those sneaky Blockheads. Yeah, the controls take some getting used to, but bouncing around hunting for hidden ice creams hits just right.

Gumby vs. the Astrobots came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by Lucky Jump and published by Namco. It was part of that wave of licensed platformers that tried to capture younger audiences on the handheld, though it didn't make much noise at the time. The game draws from the classic stop motion character, but it feels more like a straightforward action title than a nostalgic trip.
You control Gumby, moving through side scrolling levels to rescue his friends Pokey and Goo from the robotic Blockheads. His main ability is morphing; you can flatten into a thin sheet to slip under low obstacles, or roll into a ball to gain speed and crush enemies. The levels are built around these transformations, often requiring quick shifts to navigate spikes, gaps, and enemies. You collect green clay pieces to unlock later stages, and hidden ice cream items offer extra lives. The pacing is methodical, with some tricky platforming sections that demand precise timing. It feels like a simple, sometimes clunky game that asks for patience more than reflexes.
