Gun Sight is one of those NES games that makes you go, "Wait, why didn't we get this in the West?" At first glance, it looks like your typical top-down shooter—until you realize your targeting reticle moves independently from your ship. That little twist changes everything.
You're constantly doing this weird mental juggle: dodging bullets with one hand while carefully aiming with the other. It feels like patting your head and rubbing your stomach at first, but once it clicks, there's nothing else quite like it. The enemy patterns are brutal in that classic 80s arcade way, and the power-up system actually makes you think twice before grabbing everything in sight.
If you've burned through Gradius one too many times and want something that still kicks your butt but in a different way, this Japan-only cart is worth tracking down. Just don't blame me when you get stuck on stage 3 for a week.
