Play Gunstar Super Heroes (U)(Trashman) Online
You flip between weapons mid-fight, dodging screen-filling bosses while the controls somehow keep up with the chaos. That first mech still scares the hell out of me every time.

Gunstar Super Heroes came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by Treasure and published by Sega. It arrived late in the GBA's life, a time when developers really knew how to push the hardware, and it shows in the detailed sprites and smooth action. This was a direct sequel to the Genesis classic, Gunstar Heroes, and it carried forward that same spirit of frantic, inventive shooting.
You control one of two siblings, Red or Blue, fighting through side-scrolling stages to stop an empire from reviving an ancient weapon. The game lets you switch between different shot types on the fly, like a spread shot or homing lasers, and you frequently grab vehicles or special weapons that change up the action. Stages shift perspectives suddenly, from traditional running and gunning to behind-the-back shooting or forced-scroller segments. The pace is relentless, and the difficulty is fair but demanding, especially during the multi-phase boss fights that fill the screen. It feels incredibly responsive and chaotic in the best way, like the hardware is barely containing the excitement.
