Gunstar Super Heroes came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by Treasure. It was a time when the GBA was full of inventive action games, and this one stood out as a direct follow-up to the Sega Genesis original. You control either Red or Blue, two heroes fighting to stop an empire from reviving a destructive weapon. The game moves you through side-scrolling stages where you run, jump, and shoot through military complexes and alien landscapes. A key feature is the weapon system; you can mix and match shot types like homing or lightning, and switch them instantly during combat. Another is the frequent vehicle or turret sections that break up the on-foot action. The pace is relentless, the difficulty is sharp, and it feels like you're barely holding on through the chaos.
