Harlequin_Disk1 is one of those weirdly charming Amiga platformers that sticks with you. You play as Harlequin, this lanky guy returning to his childhood paradise—Chimerica—only to find it’s gone all twisted and hostile. The creatures that used to be playful are now out for blood, and touching them means instant death. So what do you do? Shoot hearts at them, obviously. Because nothing says "neutralize the threat" like love bullets.
The levels are full of vertical climbs, secret nooks, and power-ups tucked in places you’d miss if you weren’t paying attention. At first, the controls feel a little floaty, but once you get the hang of bouncing around and timing those heart shots, it clicks. Some of the jumps are brutal, though—expect a few cheap deaths before you memorize the layouts.
It’s got that classic Amiga vibe: bright colors, quirky enemies, and a soundtrack that’s equal parts cheerful and unsettling. If you’re into retro platformers with personality, this one’s worth digging up.
