Game Overview

He-Man (Kung Fu Hack) is a hacked NES rom that turns the original game into a side-scrolling beat 'em up. You play as He-Man, punching and kicking through Skeletor’s minions, which sounds cool—but the controls feel stiff, like you're fighting the game itself as much as the enemies.

The first level throws waves of generic skeletons at you, and the hit detection is rough. Sometimes your punches just phase through enemies, other times you get hit from weird angles. The sprites are blocky, even for NES standards, and He-Man moves like he’s stuck in molasses.

It’s one of those hacks that changes the gameplay but doesn’t quite fix the jank. If you’re a die-hard He-Man fan, maybe it’s worth a look, but otherwise, it’s more frustrating than fun.
