HeroQuest - Return of the Witch Lord on the Amiga is one of those classic dungeon crawlers that feels like rolling dice on a digital tabletop. You’ve got your little band of heroes—warrior, wizard, elf, dwarf—creeping through torch-lit corridors, pushing open doors just to get jumped by skeletons or goblins. The grid-based movement is simple, but those first few rooms still make you nervous when you hear the enemy spawn sound.
The Witch Lord expansion adds this eerie vibe with undead enemies everywhere, and the Amiga version nails the atmosphere with chunky pixel art and surprisingly moody music. I remember getting stuck in a room with like six zombies and realizing too late I’d forgotten to buy healing potions. Classic HeroQuest pain.
