Immortal on the Amiga is one of those games that sticks with you—mostly because it’s equal parts fascinating and frustrating. You play as a wizard’s apprentice trapped in a dungeon, solving puzzles and avoiding creatures that look like they escaped from a surreal nightmare. The atmosphere is thick with weirdness: flickering torches, eerie sound effects, and enemies that move in ways that make no sense.
The controls take some getting used to—jumping feels stiff at first, and the combat is clunky, but there’s something oddly compelling about the way everything unfolds. You’ll push blocks, cast spells (badly at first), and die a lot. The puzzles are clever, though, and the art style has this grim, hand-drawn charm that makes it feel like you’re exploring someone’s dark fantasy sketchbook.
