Download In 80 Days Around The World_Disk2 ROM – Amiga Game
1987 Amiga action game. Play as Phileas Fogg (strategy) or Passepartout (platforming). Travel global locations, manage finances, bribe for faster travel, complete mini-games. Features card games, quick-time events, and obstacle avoidance.
Remember that old Jules Verne story about racing around the world? This Amiga game turns it into this weirdly addictive mix of strategy and arcade action. You start as Phileas Fogg in London, betting his entire fortune that he can circle the globe in 80 days—then suddenly you're switching between him and his butler Passepartout, each with their own challenges.
The world map screen looks simple at first—just a train puffing away in the corner showing your speed, a money bag for funds—but then you hit the first action section in India and realize this isn't just some travel sim. As Passepartout, you're dodging spears and falling traps in a jungle temple, scrambling to grab whatever artifact you need before time runs out. Japan's section is even weirder: suddenly you're catching acrobats mid-air like some Victorian circus act.
America throws wolves at you, then forces you to mimic some tribal dance perfectly (mess up and apparently you're dinner). The whole thing has this janky charm where one minute you're carefully budgeting bribes to speed up trains, the next you're platforming through London dungeons with a top hat on. It shouldn't work, but somehow it does. Just don't expect the 80-day deadline to be forgiving.
