Remember that old Amiga gem, In 80 Days Around The World? You start as Phileas Fogg in London’s stuffy Reform Club, betting his entire fortune—20,000 quid—that he can circle the globe in 80 days. Classic Victorian hubris. Half the game you’re Fogg, the other half his poor butler Passepartout, sweating through jungles and dodging spears while the clock ticks away.

The overworld map shows your route, with this adorable little train puffing smoke in the corner to show your speed. You’ve got two main buttons: bribe officials (because of course) to make trains go faster, or gamble at cards to refill your dwindling money bag. Then suddenly—boom—you’re side-scrolling through India as Passepartout, leaping over pit traps while tribesmen chuck spears at you from above. Miss the temple artifact? Game over.

Japan’s section is pure chaos—catching acrobats mid-air like some deranged circus act. America? Wolves. So many wolves. And if you mess up the Native medicine man’s dance sequence, well… let’s just say Fogg’s journey ends early. The final stretch through London’s dungeons feels like the devs just wanted to punish you one last time before the credits. Good luck getting back before day 80—I never did on my first try.
