Play International Karate Advanced Online
Dodge, punch, and kick your way through chaotic three-way karate battles in International Karate Advanced on Game Boy Advance.
International Karate Advanced came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, developed by Studio 3. It was part of that early wave of GBA fighters, a time when developers were still figuring out how to translate arcade-style action onto the small screen. This one tried to bring the feel of a classic karate tournament into your hands.
You control one of three martial artists, each with their own basic moveset, and face off against the other two in a single-screen arena. The main goal is simple: deplete your opponents' health bars before they deplete yours. The game uses a three-button control scheme for punches, kicks, and blocks, but the real signature is the chaos of a three-way fight. You have to constantly reposition yourself, trying to line up a combo on one fighter while avoiding the other. The pacing is fast and the difficulty can spike sharply when both CPU opponents decide to target you. It feels like trying to survive a playground scrap where the rules went out the window.
