Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues came out on Game Boy in 1994, developed by Ocean Software. It was one of those licensed games that tried to do more than just cash in on the movie's name, especially on a handheld where action platformers were common but not always polished. The game picks up right after the first film, with the island still overrun and no sign of things calming down anytime soon.
You control Dr. Alan Grant, moving screen by screen through jungles, facilities, and even underwater sections. Your main goal is to shut down security systems and contain the outbreak, which involves finding keycards, avoiding environmental hazards, and fighting off dinosaurs with a variety of weapons, from a standard pistol to a grenade launcher. The pacing is tense; some sections are methodical, while others force you to run automatically as a T-Rex closes in. Boss fights require pattern recognition and careful ammo management, adding a layer of strategy to the straightforward shooting. It feels chaotic and demanding, but also satisfying when you finally clear a tough stretch.
